Unexploded Bomb followed a bomb disposal man as he diffused an unexploded bomb in an abandoned house. In so doing he unearthed a secret history of the people that had lived there, told through the objects that had been left behind - the ghost of a woman's dress who sews paper babies on an old treadle machine, the violent story of three small chairs, and a naughty child who persuades a baby to go down the bomb hole.
Press quotes:
"The Ding Foundation is the Squirrel and Magpie of the theatre world collecting and re-using abandoned objects and all the debris and detritus of other peoples lives, and animating them in order to tell stories.....it wouldn't take much to tip what is currently curious and intriguing into the realm of the theatrically explosive.......like a series of little hauntings" - Lyn Gardner - The guardian
"surprisingly spellbinding, this creative puppetry without puppets should go down a treat, if only all theatre were this sweet and imaginative" - Clare Peel - theatreworld internet magazine

Being a bird - 2001 -2004
A solitary dinosaur of a bird lives alone in a Dutch house made from reclaimed wood. Through hatches and windows in the house the bird is confronted by aspects of it's long forgotten bird life, while the increasingly menacing presence of humans lurk in the background.
"The Ding Foundation has an extraordinary ability to present visually stunning work......Being a Bird held the attention of audiences from four to a hundred and four" - Linda Lewis - Director of Visions Festival Brighton
